During its E3 press conference last year, Microsoft unveiled an exclusive Xbox 360 game being worked on by Crysis developer Crytek. A live-action trailer was shown featuring gladiators and a name, Codename: Kingdoms, was given, but no other details were revealed.

Fast forward a year later to today at Microsoft's 2011 E3 press conference and we have the official name for this mysterious game: Ryse. It's a first-person combat game for Kinect. Footage shown during the conference looked promising.

Expect more details on Ryse over the next few days.

This was painful to see.

This was the game that many xbox fans were hoping big things for. Don't get me wrong, it might still be just that. But now with it being a Kinect game that takes a lot of wind of of this game's sails.

But I'll wait until I demo this myself before I assume anything. But at first thought, I'm not too pleased with this being a Kinect game.

You know what, this game has a really odd title. I mean, it's by Crytek and it doesn't have "Cry" in the title? How does that even work? I was hoping for CryKnight or CloseCry.

But the thing with that is this. What other game have they made besides Crysis? If they made other titles with "cry" in it then I can understand.

A fighter game for the Kinect? I'm sold. I'm looking forward to seeing progress and updates on this because Dance Central is getting old. :/

Far Cry? They made that as well.

Plus to an above comment, Crytek announced from the beginning it was going to take advantage of Kinect when it was released.

I always wondered how FPS are going to look on Kinect, and here it is, Ryse, a first person shooter on Kinect. Can't wait to get my hands on it. :)
