Kirby 3DS

What will it be like?

It's certain such a game will exist, and probably more than one too given how every Nintendo handheld has at least two Kirby games on it, but what will the 3DS installment be like?

Will they continue with the fantastic looking sprites and 2D artwork found in the GBA and DS titles, or go full on 3D models like in New Super Mario Bros? Because I'd kind of hope they didn't, some of the art looked brilliant in the GBA titles:

^Examples from the spriter's resource. They look artistic and beautiful enough I'd hate to see the series go all generic 3D model style like with Mario or the like.

Also, do you think they'll any more likes, like Nightmare in Dreamland or Super Star Ultra, except maybe of one of the Kirby's Dreamland games?

I thought that one just got transformed into Kirby's Return to Dreamland. But there are still a lot of elements from that beta trailer that look awesome, so I'd be happy if something similar to that got through.

I think they can still go 3D without losing all the detail and so on. Just requires a little more effort to make the scenery visually pleasing. I quite liked how Donkey Kong Country Returns did all of their scenery, so if they can something remotely similar to that (Kirby theme obviously, not jungle themed) then I would be happy.

That said, I'm all for a 2D one as well. So long as there is Kirby on the 3DS, I will be pleased.

I agree with Dan. So long as Kirby gets out onto the 3DS I'll be happy. But I do like the artwork for the GBA titles Nin posted there. So it'll be interesting to see how Nintendo goes about it.

I'd like it if Shinichi Shimomura made another kirby game. The ones he made had more "style" than Sakurai's with characters like the Dark Matter legion, Zero, and the animal partners. Just for reference, he directed Kirby's dream land 2. It would be perfect, then we could have a Kirby game while Sakurai is busy on SSB4.
