So I took for myself to play every NES game I could and write a small review of my experience with the game. Remember this is how I feel about the games I play, is not a bible telling you what you will experience with them.

The score system is just from 1 to 5:
  1. Epic Fail
  2. Fail
  3. Good
  4. Awesome
  5. Epic
I will try to play them in alphabetical order.

The games will be reviewed by the following:
  • GFX(Graphics)
  • Sound
  • Control
  • Replay Value
Wanted to place a "Story" category also but in the NES era lots of games suffer from this one. So I will apply it to only those games that do have ones, but it wont affect the score.

10 Yard fight
GFX- Nothing impressive here, just plain character sprites and a green field marked with numbers.
Sound - beeps and boops
Control - Prepare to get frustraded with all the interceptions the computer will make. Can't select plays.
Replay Value - With my early experiences? Very Low, besides there are far better American Football games out there in the NES.
Score 2/5

[attachment=909:1942.jpg][attachment=910:1943.jpg]
1942-1943
GFX - Not to detailed but still can clearly figure out what is going on.
Sound - Catchy tunes, standard explosion effects.
Control - Easy to grab and play control.
Replay Value - With only one life you will find yourself replaying it a LOT. Having a password featured is good.
Score 3/5

[attachment=905:3dworldrunner.jpg]
3D Battles of World Runner, The
GFX - This game gives us an incredible sense of a 3D sphere like world that is actually impresive considering this is a NES title. Enemies look cute.
Sound - Usual catchy tunes, besides the jump sound no other thing stands out.
Control - Press UP to run faster, press down to slow down, left and right to move sideways and A to jump. Basic? YES, but this game can get from easy to medium to hard to chaotic fast. If you feel like sprinting all the way (Like I did) you will find it fun but hard to keep up. Sometimes is better to slow daown a bit.
Replay Value - The game invites you to keep on playing, is kinda addictive.
Score 4/5

[attachment=908:720.jpg]
720
GFX - Player character is very well done, but that's about it.
Sound - annoying, if I hear that splash sound again I'm gonna loose it.
Control - Wait, what? Is there is such a thing here? Frustrating at the best.
Replay Value - None, unless you are a masochist.
Score 1/5

[attachment=906:8eyes.jpg]
8 Eyes
GFX - Think of a Castlevania clone, with bigger character sprites and more colorful castle walls.
Sound - They kinda wanna hit an exotic tone with the music, it's working a bit but nothing mind blowing here.
Control - This is were all hell breaks loose. You have a bird, to send it flying press UP+Attack to call it back press it again. That's about it, some times the stupid burd attack (and misses) and most of the times is just there getting hit. As for the hero, he jumps and attack and also uses sub-weapons. But for some strange reason, when the bird goes off there are time that I can't hit the enemies with my sword. Ending my game.......
Mellow.png

Replay Value - Sure if you are hardcore enough to suffer all the glitchy controller faults go for it.
Score 2/5

Abadox
GFX - Nice sureal theme, can clearly see what each character is suppose to be.
Sound - Smooth and really sets the mood pf being in out of space.
Control - once you get the fist speed boost you can feel the real power to move freely, but beware, is easy to loose control.
Replay Value - Stages are short, but that doesn't mean that they are not challenging. The only flaw I found on this hard game is, why the hell do I die when I touch ground if I have two freaking legs?
Score 4/5

[attachment=912:Adams Family.jpg]
Adams Family - Adams Family Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt
GFX - I'm a sucker for nice detailed main characters. Big cartoony sprites are always a good thing. Foreground looks nice, but background is just a solid color(Pugsley only)
Sound - Nice to hear the main tune, but after a bit you will be glad the remote control has a mute bottom.
Control - Not much to do here, jump and open doors, that's about it.
Replay Value - Only for the brave ones. The game is frustrating, everything and anything will drain your life bar and there is little you can do about it. Limited continues and no sense on what the hell are you suppose to do in this game.
Score 2/5

[attachment=913:Advance D&D DragonStrike.jpg]
Advance D&D Dragon Strike
GFX - They try a kind of isometric view so you can see all the trees and the levels on the terrain. Moving water effect. Dragons all share the same sprite but all have different attributes.
Sound - nothing memorable here, repeated sounds is the most you will hear.
Control - The tricky one. This game use left and right to steer the dragon, Up will lower the dragon to the ground level, some if not most enemies will be located here. Press down and it will bring the dragon back into the sky. Things can get confusing quickly with all the ups and downs but you will somehow get used to it.
Replay Value - There is definitly some of it out there. Trying to beat each stages criteria to beat it will maintain you occupy for a bit.
Score 3/5

[attachment=914:Advance D&D Heroes of the Lance.jpg]
Advance D&D Heroes of Lance
GFX - Characters are blocky and ugly, dungeon are not bad looking at all.
Sound - No like, BMG is not half bad but the rest of the game sounds I don't like them at all.
Control - I find myself pressing the analong pad as hard as I can to make the darn characters move, once they do it feels slugish and unresponsive. Battle is a pain, changing characters is a nightmare. Well to sum it all up this is what really breaks the game.
Replay Value - After a couple of deaths you will want to throw the controller to the screen (DON'T DO IT) and forget you ever played this game, as I will do now.
Score 1/5

[attachment=915:Advance D&D Hillsfar.jpg]
Advance D&D Hillsfar
GFX - When riding the horse the place looks beautiful, if the whole game was just like this I would love it, sadly this is not the case. The town is just a big mess.
Sound - You can hear the horse gallop in the beggining of your journy and then you harsh sound of your skin rubbing the ground once you fell. Epic moment.
Control - The horse (YES the freaking horse is what most strike me about this darn game >_> ) moves forward and once you see a puddle and press the jump bottom you will find yourself on the ground, just to get up and repeat it all over again. Why cause you have to press AND hold to make the darn thing jump. Like the previous D&D game the rest feels slugish.
Replay Value - If I have to ride the horse once more that will end the game for me right there.
Score 2/5

[attachment=916:Advance D&D Pool of Ridiance.jpg]
Advance D&D Pool of Radiance
GFX - Corridor game, siplistic looks compared to the rest of the games above. Once in battle is even more simplistic.
Sound - Once the can actually figure out how to start playing this darn game the first BGM you hear is lively and catchy. Then is all more of the same.
Control - You will get lost, A LOT, comparing it with the rest of the D&D games this is the most loose control you will find. To bad is for no good use.
Replay Value - Ok lets get this, first I got lost and had no idea where to go next. That is not something bad considering this is a NES game and most are like that. But once you start walking you will find yourself walking in circles, CIRCLES I TELL YOU. Well I somehow ended up in a tavern. Not a bad thing since there I could find info, and I did. BUT ALAS!!! A fight broke out of nowhere in the tavern and it took me to my first experience with the battle system. It was me vs 7 guards, I selected move and STAB IN THE BACK! One freaking hit KO. And that ended my replay value.
Score 2/5

[attachment=919:Adventures in the Magic Kingdom.jpg]
Adventures in the Magic Kingdom
GFX - At first look it wont impress you with its simple overworld looks. Once inside the attractions is another whole story, some look fantastic while the others simplistic but yet, better than most games for the console.
Sound - Is Disney we are talking about, nice music but not memorable by any means.
Control - I find myself running into walls in the overworld cause for some weird reason the character always seem to want to go to another direction than the one I want to. Inside the attractions change from game to game but they are all easy to use.
Replay Value - High, the game is challenging for a Disney game. The trivia part is also quite entretaining since it will make you move around the whole map. The game is not intended for kids despites what it looks like.
Score 4/5

[attachment=929:Adventures of Bayou Billy.jpg]
Adventures of Bayou Billy
GFX - Nice detailed looking game, wait a second..... is the bad guy capturing Billy's girl grabbing her boobs? o.O OMG! HE IS!! That bastard.
Sound - Nice sounds overall
Control - a punch a kick and a flying kick, that will be your arsenal. The game is not hard to control itself, now surviving is another story. There are other sections of this game that will have you using the Zapper gun.
Replay Value - it would be better if the darn enemies didn't take to long to kill and besides that they have a lighting fast counter hit. WTF?
Score 3/5

[attachment=918:Adventures of Dino Riki.jpg]
Adventures of DinoRiki
GFX - Charming looks, the game looks great all over the place.
Sound - The music is lively and wont bother you a bit.
Control - Is easy to move around and shoot, but once the jumps become mandatory, expect a few game overs.
Replay Value - The game is a shooter on foot. It feels great, but those jump sections will ruin the whole experience for anyone. Still I find myself perfecting the jumps (just to fail the next one) and enjoy the rest of the game. Did I mention that the dificulty raises rather quickly? Well it does.
Score 4/5

[attachment=920:Adventures of Gilligan's Island.jpg]
Adventures of Gilligans Island
GFX - This game try to cover the most are with background to avoid using the infamaus one color screens of most lazy games. This is a good thing, characters are big and they mey not be very detailed but do a great job.
Sound - The BMG is kinda dorky and repetitive, but once you ignore it you even forget there is one. The rest are just standard NES beeps and boops.
Control - Jump and puch, punches wont hurt anything as far as I saw in the first level. Jump is your main here. Falling in quick sand will be a pain, since you have to repeatly jump to get out and is not an easy task.
Replay Value - You have to drag with you the nut brain of Gilligam. You are better of leaving him lost in the jungle but sadly he seems to be the one carrying the key items and you need to have him by your side all the time, but is more easy said that done, he tends to goof off and get lost quite easly. The game is a type of scavenger hunt but will limit you with just 10minutes to do so. Once the time is up and the game is over you will have to repeat the stage all over again from cero.
Score 3/5

[attachment=921:Adventures of Lolo 1.jpg]
Adventures of Lolo 1
GFX - Simple room with a dungeon like feeling, all character's sprites look awesome.
Sound - Catchy tune that even if it gets repetitive fast it will not bother you as much as in other games this type of tunes do. Soon you will find yourself humming this song ^_^
Control - Simple and easy to grasp the concept of what you are doing here. But for some reason Lolo lost sense of directions rather quickly getting you stock at times.
Replay Value - High, you will find that in later stages the puzzles get more and more challenging and you will like that. Challenge Acepted! The inclusion of a suicide bottoms was a nice move altho most religions will go against that feature XD but that is the way to tell the game that you are stuck and need to start over.
Score 4/5

[attachment=922:Adventures of Lolo 2.jpg]
Adventures of Lolo 2
GFX - See Adv. of Lolo 1, new to this game are more animations
Sound - Different from the first game but have the same catchy effect. As for the rest are also recicled from the first game.
Control - Same as above
Replay Value - Puzzles start getting harder faster than in the first game.
Score 4/5

[attachment=923:Adventures of Lolo 3.jpg]
Adventures of Lolo 3
GFX - This time around there is an overworld map in which you travel to the different areas. Once inside this such areas the dungeon pallete changes depending on the type of area you are in (a tree is wood pallete, ect..) As for the characters and monsters is more of the same quality you came to love in the first two games, but to me they seem a little less shiny than in the first two games.
Sound - Still got it.
Control - still the same
Replay Value - This game have the same puzzles you love from the rist two games plus it also have a tutorial stage for those of you that missed the first two games. Now instead of a tall tower you have various stages to pick from, but to get into later stages you need to first beat the lower ones.
Score 4/5

[attachment=924:Adventures of Rad Gravity.jpg]
Adventured of Rad Gravity
GFX - ^_^ gottal love the space hero cartoony .style of this game. Set in a cyberpunk era it tries its best to set the mood, also the white pure futuristic rooms look awesome full of detail.
Sound - The BGM will make you feel like a sort of last action futuristic hero. Nice moving sounds.
Control - Moving Rad around is easy as any game sould be, no problem here.
Replay Value - High, you have just one life but infinite continues and will never lose any items you pick along the way. The difficulty can vary from stage to stage so this is a game anyone can enjoy.
Score 4/5

[attachment=925:Adventures of Rocky 'n Bullwinkle.jpg]
Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle
GFX - When talking about making the game look like a cartoon this one wins a prize. To bad the rest of the game falls flat.
Sound - Cartoon tunes and bombs, that's the most I could get from it.
Control - You get stuck, there is a stage with saws that are suppose to be moving but you see no movement at all and you have to go to the opposite side if their movement dirrecttion but there is no way you can tell where they are moving to. You swith characters on the fly but will still find the same problems.
Replay Value - Glitchy game, enemies will come at you out of nowhere and on top of that hurting them with Rockys antlers will also hurt you. WTF?
Score 2/5

[attachment=926:Adventures of Tom Sawyer.jpg]
Adventures of Tom Sawyer
GFX - Simple and Lazy
Sound - To noisy and forgetable
Control - I think is the only good thing of this game.
Replay Value - Low: One hit dead, things will come at you out of nowhere and will get killed a lot. The game is more like a trial and error type. Don't really wanna replay it a lot.
Score 2/5

[attachment=927:After Burner.jpg]
After Burner [Tengen]
GFX - Moving ground and solid color sky, nice Fighter Jet designs.
Sound - Fast action BMG, missiles FHWOOP, and guns Tadadada. Explosions go BOOM!
Control - KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!! Tight and easy to use. HE IS ON MY TAIL! GET IT OFF!!
Replay Value - This might not be the Arcade Afterburner in sense of looks but it does a fine job porting this action packet wonder to the NES. The way the game looks wont matter once yo start shooting down some enemy planes. It has jets and missiles, what more do you want?
Score 5/5

[attachment=928:Air Fortress.jpg]
Air Fortress
GFX - Nice space looking game. You are a big headed spaceman riding a tiny space fightership.
Sound - No complains here, the BMG sets the fast action mood quite well.
Controls - on the ship mode they are tight, on the foot mode they work as well.
Replay Value - Moderate: A game with two modes flying shooter and floater shooter. Give you enough variety to keep you interested in the game. I love how when you beat a stage core the whole thing will turn darker giving you that sense of OMG I gotta get the heck out of here QUICK! Only issue I have with this game is how you can get kille in the ship mode for getting close enough to the stages hazzards without really touching them.
Score 4/5

[attachment=932:Airwolf.jpg]
Air Wolf
GFX - The control panel was lacking but it was the best freaking part of this game's looks.
Sound - Horrible, makes me wanna throw the controller to the screen.
Control - Sluggish, hard, sucky, horrible....... well you are getting the idea.
Replay Value - None: Ohh man, where should I start? This game puts you in a mission to rescue some hostages. Once you are in actual game and move to the destination (that's if the horrible hard controllers let you get there) the game will shift to a 2D-side map, with no other warning and little to no time to react you helicopter just go down with a bang, and I mean a BANG since it's going to crash. WTF? Helicopters don't suppose to hover in place?
Score 1/5

[attachment=933:Al Unser Jr Turbo Racing.jpg]
Al Unser Jr. Turbo Racing
GFX - Is a racing game, so on this era graphics weren't the issue here. But this game manage to be a good looking one. Race car models where mostly seen from the back, but they did made the whole car model, from all views (except down, duh).
Sound - It gives you the choice to select what BGM you wanna hear while racing, so that is a plus for this game. The crashes, the tires drifting on the track, everything was taking care of.
Control - Fenomenal, the only complain here was on my part, that I sucked at it XD
Replay Value - Very High: With a grandprix, time trial and practice modes this game have enough for any racing fan to comeback.
Score 5/5

[attachment=934:Aladdin.jpg]
Aladdin
GFX - I have a mixed feeling here, while the game DOES look awesome for a NES game, it also have no freaking color variation whatsoever, the first stage is all yellow and black. WTF? It looks like a GB game on the NES.
Sound - Is Disney, so all the soundtrack is nice to hear. Now I have no freaking idea who was the smart guy who decided to place Game & Watch sounds to his jumps. >_> also when you kill an enemie you can hear an explosion. WHAT THE HELL? I kill a parrot and it sounds like if I have destroyed a missile silo.
Control - Al is slow, he moves, jumps and attacks in slow motion...... >_>
Replay Value - Low: After the first level, if you are brave enough to continue on, then by all means do so. If you are like me you will stop playing there.
Score 1/5

[attachment=935:Alfred Chicken.jpg]
Alfred Chicken
GFX - This game looks good, I LOVE to kill the cicken just to see the feathers animation XD. Nice overall.
Sound - They don't stand out much but that doesn't mean they are bad. No, not at all.
Control - It moves around well enough, but the floating nature of Alfred make it land in the faster platforms a bit of a hassle. Also pressing down in mid air send Alfred downward beak first to kill the baddies, to bad it has a delay and he wont do it faster.
Replay Value - Moderate: Loots of things to collect, lots of 1ups for various items found in the levels, all of this encourage you to keep on playing till the end.
Score 3/5

[attachment=936:Alien 3.jpg]
Aliens 3
GFX - It have a lot of good thing going for it. Deteiled backgrounds and nice sprite models, with some animations.
Sound - Action packed BGM, shooting and killing.
Control - To bad such a good looking game had this terrible control. First of all, to the jackass that thought that it was cool to switch how we NES players use the A and B buttoms I say screw you! In this game you jump with the B and shoot with the A. That is the opposite of all other NES game out there >.< The problem also can be found that the main character is ALWAYS running and hard to step on the ladder to climb up or down. Jumpin is a hell of a task.
Replay Value - Altho the controls suck more than two black holes next to each other, the rest of the game is enjoyable. But trying to figure out where all the prisioners are you will need to get various kills for that.
Score 2/5

[attachment=937:Alien Sybdrome.jpg]
Alien Syndrome
GFX - Not bad, but the boss stage is nothing but a black background with the boss in it. Just like in Blaster Master, but at least in that game they show you the boss room and then switch it to black for the battle.
Sound - Nothing that will make you go out to buy the soundtrack.
Control - No big problems with this one here.
Replay Value - Altho the main quest itself of blasting pink poop and rescuing some crew members is not bad at all. But once in the Boss battle you have such a small chance to hit him in the vulnerable spot that makes it so darn hard to avoid the shoots and pink blobs he sends while at the same time try to get a clear shoot. But nothing that practice can't help.
Score 3/5

[attachment=938:All-Pro Basketball.jpg]
All Pro Basketball
GFX - The game took inspiration of Double Dribble, but with bigger characters and bigger court, also with color dunking animations.
Sound - tud tud tud tud, [insert weird NES era whistle here] tud tud tud. Hahahaha gotta love old sport game's sounds. The music is not bad at all.
Control - Here lies the HUGE problem, the game tells me that my side of the court is on the south. Ok I can live with that, but ALAS! Once you pass the half-court the darn game swtich the south to the north with a FREAKING translation animation. By the time the game resumes you have little to no idea on where the hell you are standing nor where are your teammates. Trying to shoot the ball most of the time gets me to a fail attempt, or blocks. Trying to block the opponent gets to me nowhere. So I quit when the game was 22 to 4.....
Replay Value - With all that weird camera angles and the fact that you lose orientation, this game will confuse the hell out of you. If this game was oriented to the side like DD, then it would make an awesome game.
Score 2/5

[attachment=948:Alpha Mission.jpg]
Alpha Mission
GFX - Simple, not much effor was put to it.
Sound - Boring, Music is hard to hear unless you pause the game. Still it doesn't help to bring up this game to life.
Control - Like most space shooters you start with a slow ship, but I find this ship slower than in the other games in this category.
Replay Value - Very Low: Not much to say here, the power ups are boring, the music is hard to hear, the sound effects are also boring, level design is lazy.
Score 2/5

[attachment=949:Amagon.jpg]
Amagon
GFX - Nice try on texturing the background and multi-shading some enemies, to bad the main character looks flat and boring.
Sound -Shooting bullets sound like you are using sandpaper on a metal surface. Music is weird and I don't feel that is right for this game.
Control - Jumping is awkard, shooting at least is smooth. Platforming sections are not hard but the awkard jump will sure become an obstacle.
Replay Value - Low: This game is like a weird mix of Contra witha saturday morning cartoon. Unlimited bullets? Ha, real cartoon use limited ones. Also did I mention that instead of fighting an evil Army to save the world you shoot little birds, snakes, weird spiders, and the such.....
Score 2/5

[attachment=950:American Gladiators.jpg]
American Gladiator
GFX - Varies from event, but overall gives you an impresion that you are on a jousting stdium.
Sound - I tought my speakers were having problems, but no...
Control - This also change from game to game, but some us presise bottom presses and others are just bottoms smashing fest.
Replay Value - Moderate: Depends if you wanna test all the diferent events or not. Some events are so brutal that takes interest away from this game. (I'm looking at you wall climbing)
Score 3/5

[attachment=951:Anticipation.jpg]
Anticipation
GFX - Nothing to see here, as simple as they could. But once the game try to draw it may be simple but is clear to what its suppose to be.
Sound - Does the job on keeping you wondering what the heck is going to appear, but nothing else to hear here.
Control - Moving thru the alphabet is fast smooth and accurate.
Replay Value - High: Play this with some friends and family and you can have a fun and healty laugh. On higher levels things do get interesting. Also did I mention this is a game made by Rare in 1988? ^_^
Score 4/5

[attachment=953:Arch-Rivals.jpg]
Arch Rivals - Basketbrawl!
GFX - Decent looking two on two basketball game. Nice detailed characters and cute cut-animations. Public is animated and kinda detatailed.
Sound - Trying to set the street b-ball mood. Punches sound weird, is like hitting a sandbag.
Control - For the love of God! I am trying to get a rebound but this guy can just jump in a straight line upward! >.< Trying to hit other players is kinda a pain also, since everytime you throw a puch you go to a halt. Moving in a straigh line is fast but trying to move up or down kinda slows you down.
Replay Value - Moderate: This was Acclaim/Midway first attempt ever to make something that today is known as NBA Jam. But here the CPU cheats..... >_> I can't get a hold on the ball long enough to make it to my side of the court, cause I will get punched and they will take the ball away from me. Nothing to do here, IF I try to pass it then my partner will get knocked down before the ball gets to him and they will get the ball. If I shot, most times I will miss, and they will rebound it, if they shoot they will mostly make the shot and if they don't they will get the rebound and shot it again....
Score 2/5

[attachment=952:Archon.jpg]
Archon
GFX - This is a game that looks like a battle chess, board is flat and boring but the battle dungeon looks decent.
Sound - Slow and boring board music, fast and annoying battle music.... :\
Control - Moving pieces around have a limit, but somehow it seems that the CPU have movement privilages or I'm just seeing things. In the battle I get killed even by a simple pawn. This don't speak good of this game.
Replay Value - Low: CPU is overpowered, CPU can freely move at times, CPU is one mean sob.
Score 1/5

[attachment=954:Arkanoid.jpg]
Arkanoid
GFX - Simple colored blocks, but that's the beauty of it.
Sound - The game is pure sound effect, some blocks you hit make the sound change and have something that sounds like a tune.
Control - easy to grab and go. Just move left or right and dont let the ball fall. Some powerups will spice things up.
Replay Value - Very High: The game is all about reflex and hand to eye coordination. Those golden blocks are a pain but that's part of the game.
Score 5/5

[attachment=955:Arkistas Ring.jpg]
Arkista's Ring
GFX - The game kinda looks like the NES's Final Fantasy overworld. At least there is no need for a mono color background as all of it is used. Nice characters sprites.
Sound - Not the best in the NES library but the sounds and BGM of this game wont bother you at all.
Control - Responsive and easy to understand.
Replay Value - High: I found myself stuck to this game, not cause it's hard and have the need to challenge it, but because is kinda easy, but there is something about it that keeps me glued to the controller. Lots of powers to collect and use. I found myself collecting several pieces of my armor to survive longer. Game is no hard at all but you will always find yourself with the need to see more. And so did I, I got so hooked that I finish the game without knowing it XD the later stages are freakingly hard.
Score 4/5

[attachment=956:Astyanax.jpg]
Astyanax
GFX - Good looking game, with huge characters sprites, nice details.
Sound - BGM and sound effects are nice, not over the top quality but nice.
Control - Here lies the problem, some monsters are hard to hit. Making a fight with them a real nightmare.
Replay Value - Moderate: Aside the controller issue, the game invites you to play it till the end. After that I think there is not much to see.
Score 3/5

[attachment=957:Athena.jpg]
Athena
GFX - Anime style graphics that looks great. Wearing armors show on the character, that has always been a plus for my in any game.
Sound - Music fits the game well enough. There is a problem with the music overlaying on top of the sound effects at times but they are not that great to hear at anyways.
Control - My only complain here, is that jumping feels random, sometimes Athena jumps low and sometimes she will go up high.
Replay Value - Moderate: The anime style of this game will invite you to play it and replay it several times if you are into those kind of things. For the rest is just another happy go lucky game.
Score 3/5

[attachment=958:Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.jpg]
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
GFX - This game looks so great that I wish I had play it before. On the night if you are not under a light the sprites will go on a darker pallete color. Jiffy effect considering this is a NES game.
Sound - Sounds great, getting defeated wont re-start the BGM loop, as it will continue on no matter what. Yet another nice detail. The sounds of the game are ok I guess.
Control - Why running feels so weird? I mean his animation seems like he is sprinting fairly fast but in reality feel like you are running on ice and not going anywhere fast enough.
Replay Value - Moderate: I love games with animations that tell the story and this is one of them. Even when you are defeated you will want to see the animation. Platforming jumps are a bit hard here, but the collison effects look great.
Score 3/5

[attachment=959:Aussie Rules Footy.jpg]
Aussie Rules footy
GFX - The players are all clones of each other but they look nice and big enough. Each time a goal is scored there is a super spy waving two flags. No idea what that is about. The court is big enough.
Sound - There is no BGM, the sound effects are all there is to hear in this game and they are not all that great.
Control - What the hell? The game does play well but I don't get this game at all. WHAT IS FOOTY? The game will select your main player as the one nearest to the ball, that is always something good.
Replay Value - Footy? Is this a bastard child of American Footbal with Basketball? The hell I just played?
Score 2/5

Ballon Fight
GFX - Simple black background, that would've made this a bland one but Nintendo was smart enough to place lots of blinking stars that make this background comes to live. Characters are kinda small but given that the space needed to move around and battle it out the size really matters.
Sound - Te main game have no really BGM until you reach a bonus stage. The flapping of the enemies arms make sounds, poping the ballons, and while they are parachuting... well mostly ANYTHING that goes on this game make some kind of sounds that really make this game as a musical mix. If you play the Game Mode - C the BGM is fully in effect and you gotta love the catchy tune. This tune is so great that it even made it to Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Control - Exelent physics mode for that time and era this game was made. You need to press the A to make your character start waving his arms to make you fly, easy enough right? Well there is a gravity and collision effect that will always make things interesting.
Replay Value - Very High: You will enjoy both modes of this awesome simple game. If you find a friend to play with, the two player mode is a blast. Try to beat the baddies and avoid each other for unnesesary collisions. Or just troll your way and see who can pop each other's ballon first XD.
Score 5/5

Donkey Kong Jr.
GFX - Black background and some vines or chains to climb. Animated defeat some simple looking platforms.
Sound - Everytime you move Jr. it sounds like a heavy mokey is moving, which is something well done IMO. BGM is just there but nothing impresive.
Control - There is a love hate relationship here, but this is as classic as you can get.
Replay Value - Moderate: The biggest issue I have with this game is that if you fall from an upper platform you will loose, but in the end of the game you catch DK falling from the top floor with your own arms and nothing happens. Ok let me see if I can get this right, falling from 4~5 feet will kill you, but catching a 500+ pounds Gorilla falling from around 20+ feet is ok? o.O
Score 3/5

Donkey Kong Original edition
GFX - Simple, really stands out here, but keep in mind how old is this game and that it was impresive in it's time.
Sound - Mario really needs to do something about his squeeking boots.
Control - Simple, yet responsive.
Replay Value - Moderate: Stage two will feel like the final stage in most modern games, but once past that is all down hill from there. There really is nothing like playing a classic game that your grandpa played in his youth and getting your butt kicked by it. XD but once you get used to it, there is no real challenge here.
Score 3/5

Ghost'n Goblins
GFX - Game looks amazing, everything of it is to be loved.
Sound - Sounds great, timeless BGM, really sets the mood for a creepy action packed game.
Control - Only wished there was a second jump like in the SNES game. Outside of that it controls great.
Replay Value -Depends the person but for what I have learned from many people's experience with the game, it goes from High to Very High: Once a small intro in which you are naked in front of your Girlfriend and get kidnapped by a red demon, the game begins, and the two first things you notice is that there is a floating mountain with a castle on top of it, and also that you where taking a picknick/boomshakalaka in a freaking cementery. WTF? This game is so hard and brutal that will make one of two things to happen. 1.You stop playing it. 2.You can't just get your fingers of the controller.
The Gargole at the mid point of the first stage will feel like the last Boss and once you beat him you will get this feeling of accomplishment that will last forever, no matter the rest of the game. This same Gargole is the one that will make 80% of the players quit this game.
Score 4/5

Gradius
GFX - Stary bacground, space trees and all kind of robots and ships trying to kill you. This game has it all.
Sound - Sounds awesome, and really invites you to keep playing it just to hear the heroic space BGM. Some weird thing about this game is that most of the time the BGM will not let you to hear your ships beams till a little bit later.
Control - Thight and responsive, well like most space shooters that depends on haw many speed boosts you get.
Replay Value - Very High: There are lots of powerups to collect and the game will give you a lot of chances to collect them, but it will all depends on your skills to get them. The game just gets better and better as you progress........well that's if you ever make it past stage one. XD
Score 5/5

Ice Climbers
GFX - Ugly and boring, nothing special here.
Sound - Look GFX.
Control - Horrible vertical jumping make this game hellish. Trying to reach the top of the mountain will become a harder task than it suppose to be thanks to how bad the jump of this game is.
Replay Value - Low: After a few frustrating attempts of reaching the top floor you will quit this game. But there is something strange here. Even if you fall to your doom, you will pass the stage. Yes you read that right, even if you fail to reach the top you will continue on with your quest. Why Nintendo decide to make this? Maybe someone notice how bad the jump was that he decided to let you see the future stages for the sake of it.
Score 1/5

Metroid
GFX - With the wide variety of alien monsters. Sure the floors and walls palletes are repeated all over the place and sometimes even just a color change of them. This is one of the few games where the pure black background gives the game that creepy darkness feeling to the game.
Sound - Beans with diferent sounds each, bombs, missiles, everything have a distintic sound, the BGM in this game up there in the Music Olympus of the gaming Gods.
Control -Perfect, simpley perfect.
Replay Value - High: This game have lots of hidden rooms and lots of hidden items that will take you hours(if not days,week or months) to get them all. The non linear nature of this game gives you the freedom to search all over it. Sure you will get lost, sure lots of rooms look the same and sure the Bosses are brutal. But that's the beauty of it all.
Score 5/5

NES Open Tournament Golf
GFX - Detailed top view of the course, Nice animated Mario and Co. Good looking game overall.
Sound - Lol, no idea why there is such a fast and catchy tune in this Golf game, but it entretain me during those hard shots that I always fail to make.
Control - Ask somebody that is good at it. I suck so hard at this game, that I made 8 shots just in the first freaking hole. They are not bad by any means, I just suck at them XD.
Replay Value - High: 18 holes of Golf goodness, 3 world courses, This is actually the Second un-oficial Mario Golf game.
Score 4/5

Punch out!! Featuring Mr. Dream
GFX - Awesome looking game, huge boxers vs a tiny contender, looks like a David vs Goliath game. ^_^
Sound - Who will ever get tired of hearing the punches in the face of those guys? The music is epic, Mario counting looks kewl, this game is the best boxing game I ever played. I don't care if this is not the most realistic of the bunch.
Control - perfect, don't blame the controller for all the punches you get in your face.
Replay Value - Very High: What is not to love of this game? If you have ever experience the single hit KO on Glass Joe, you will feel so enpowered that you will go outside and punch the first bulky guy you find. To bad it won't have the same effect as the game.
Score 5/5

Super Mario Bros.
GFX - This is the game that revolutionize the future of gaming, there is nothing bad to say about this blocky gem.
Sound - 25+ years later you can find anybody reconizing the main Mario tune. If that doesn't mean something nothing will.
Control - Perfectness
Replay Value - Very High: This is the original Super Mario Bros we are talking about, you will jump, swim, shoot bouncing fireballs without getting any burn on your hands, squash mushrooms, topple turtles, run faster than giant bullets, axed a giant dragon turtle to his death.
Score 5/5

The Legend of Zelda
GFX - The one that started it all, blocky nature of it will just reflect the time this gem was made, but the HUGE (by it's time)overworld map and Big Bosses fights look amazing.
Sound - Tada, da, daaaaaaaaaaa. ^_^ I find myself doing that same sound everytime I find something I lost. The Overworld Music has the same effect as the Super Mario Bros. it's timeless.
Control - Perfect, shoot arrows, place bombs, throw a boomerang ect.. anything you do will just feel great.
Replay Value - Very High: What can I say about this game? This is what started the whole franshise with all it's twist and turns. Today's Zelda games still have lots of elements that where introduced in this game.
Score 5/5

Wrecking Crew
GFX - Simple but with that arcade feel.
Sound - Like most old arcade games it have that catchy tune, that easly gets addicting.
Control - Move, climb and wreck. Don't let the bad tools get you and you will be ok.
Replay Value - Moderate High: I have to admit that I never played this game before. The game place you inside a building with some walls to destroy. You have to detroy them all while at the same time avoiding the evil tools that want to.... fix you? I really have no idea what I was doing in my first play-time. Then I grasp the concept of wrecking everything in sight. Simple, yes. There is one complain, is that if you fall to the bottom floor and there is no ladder you are stuck there till yo get killed.
Score 2/5

Yoshi
GFX - Simple blue background, SMB3 sprites are used the most in this game.
Sound - The BGM is nice, but it doesn't sound anyting like Nintendo's trademark mario game songs.
Control - responsive, no fault here.
Replay Value - High: This is another puzzle game in which falling blocks with enemies inside will land on one of four platforms that Mario can rotate and move around. You will have to collect two of the same type to eliminate them. Also if you find a lower half of a Yoshy and and combine it with the upper half a baby Yoshi will hatch from it.
Score 3/5

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
GFX - This game is graphically a big improvement over the first game, sadly it's 2D side scrolling nature is a big let down for many players.
Sound - The composers of this gem are not the same ones as the first game. Some people love it, some people will let it pass as decent. But I freaking adore it.
Control - This game will be easy to control, the hard part is surviving the game.
Replay Value - Modarate: This all depends on the taste of the player, for me this is a very high. The game breaks the original formula of top view to a more traditional sidescrolling adventure. Lots of elements that make Zelda a great game are still here, but are used in a diffrent perspective. The difficulty of this game is sky high, but not Ghost 'n Goblins brutal high. To me this is a game that I find myself replaying at least one time a year, this is how much I love this game.
Score 5/5

B

[attachment=960:Back to the Future 1.jpg]
Back to the Future
GFX - Boring and lazy
Sound - Forgetable
Control - easy to move around
Replay Value - Low: What the hell? What does this garbage have to do with the movie? Why are girls on hula hoop shooting at me? So are the bullies, they try to chase me down and if they fail they will shoot. WTF???
Score 1/5

[attachment=961:Back to the Future 2 & 3.jpg]
Back to the Future II & III
GFX - a city on the background looks nice, the rest of the game looks ugly.
Sound - horrible
Control - screw this, I'm going to play checkers.
Replay Value - One would think that after the fiasco that was the first game they would learn their leason, right? WRONG!? This game have even less to do with the actual movies, it sucks to move around, it sucks to jump around, it sucks to die by a bouncing bird poop. Screw this.
Score 1/5

[attachment=962:Bad Dudes.jpg]
Bad Dudes
GFX - Dude it looks great, porting an arcade game to the NES with all the limitations it was well executed.
Sound - Great arcade action packed BGM, and sounds.
Control - Awesome.
Replay Value - Very High: Street Brawlers are always fun to play and this game is no exeption. Grab a biddie and get ready for a two player brawler fest. The best part of this game? It made me forget the horror of the Back to the Future games.
Score 5/5

[attachment=963:Bad News Baseball.jpg]
Bad News Baseball
GFX - This game is like an upgrade to the NES original Baseball game. Also Bunny empires. How cool is that?
Sound - Great sound
Control - Batting is smooth and responsive, fielding on the other hand feels kinda hard. The CPU make it look easy, but once you try it the fielders move slow, making reaching the ball nearly imposible at long distances. But once you have the ball, throwing is great.
Replay Value - Very high: Put the fielding aside and this game is a blast to play.
Score 4/5

This guide is pretty amazing with how big it's grown already. I'm wondering if it should be in Reviews rather than in Nintendo?

BEHOLD!! The Return of the Reviews........................... well not really.... >_> just letting you all know that I already wrote some reviews in my son's notebook and will write them here in the course of the week.

So I have finally reach the letter B and was excited to see all the great 3s,4s and 5s I would be handing down, but...... it turns out worst that I tough.....

Still letter B is just starting and LOTS of games are on queue. There is a Light Gun game that I've never played in my childhood and after I played it, I was amazed how it turn out to be. So yeah, in the following days I shall raise from the ashes this topic of mine.

Hope you all still enjoy it. Also if you are in rush for certain game or series to get the review, just comment below or PM me. ^_^

There was a soccer game for NES I remember playing. You looked like little kids playing soccer, I can't seem to figure out what it was called though...
