This anime depicts humans reliving the history of mankind in order to regain their right to be in paradise. While the overall quality is correct, the scenario is quite complex and the first episodes suffer from a lack of explanation (I had to double check the plot of the first episode cause I was worried that I got the 2nd season instead of the first).
This was my opinion of the first episodes. First, the synopsis gives us a short mind-blowing introduction to the characters and their respective abilities/personalities. All unusual and colorful, over the episode each of them launches one or two replicas that you mostly won't understand due to the lack of familiarity with the story. The plot progresses, dialogues and fuse, sinning by lack of information and the failure to allow the viewers to seize the importance or the scope of the decisions taken. Fortunately, after the first 5-6 episodes you finally get a grasp of the whole situation.
Apart from the lack of information, you can't deny the richness of the scenario, which has a lot of potential. The soundtrack is very good (especially the voice acting) and unique graphics. The female character design is reminiscent of that of Steins;Gate (excluding the "interesting" hairstyles and obvious fan-service) and is quite believable given the context. The characters are very endearing, each assuming their character completely. The humor is in a semi-serious atmosphere where clashes are twofold: fighting and debates. Both have a very fast pace and are truly addictive with a very good animation.
Overall, Kyôkai Senjo No Horizon is good entertainment. Pleasing to the eyes and ears, it establishes a solid plot that, although confused, is changing rapidly. With fights scenes very well made, effective humor and a lack of unnecessary episodes, you will definitely get over the awkwardness of the initial episodes.
