Lacie launches 'first' 5TB external hard drive

EXTERNAL STORAGE MAKER Lacie has announced what it claims to be the industry's first 5TB external hard drive.

The battle to be the first to market with a 5TB external hard drive has been on for some time, but the Seagate subsidiary has beaten rivals to the punch.

Wow, 5TB of space is a lot of space. 5TB sounds great for 4K videos, and many installing many games to it.

how big is it I wonder? And you have to be careful not to lose something like that.

There is a picture on the source link at http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/2330068/lacie-launches-first-5tb-external-hard-drive , and it looks similar in size to other external hard drive which it is the size of a dictionary or novel book.

I think most people will use this drive to add more space to their desktop, laptop, and game console by connecting it to their USB port rather than carrying it with them when they are out.

looks a little big, but for something like that you will need a 3.0 USB port.
