Microsoft is at work on a free, cloud-based version of Windows called Windows Cloud that requires an Internet connection for full functionality, and whose full features beyond base ones would only be unlocked if you paid for a subscription. So claims a Russian leaker who has often been right before. Is he right again, or is this just a false rumor?
This sounds like an interesting operating system. I wonder what type of games would be available for this OS. I wonder if free third party software will be allowed to be installed on Windows Cloud instead of paying to unlock full features.
If the device, or program is free, or very cheap, some people may use ad-supported devices and programs.
Some newer Google Android Phones and tablets have Ads on some of the Apps like YouTube, Google Maps, and Google Play App store. The default desktop on Android also advertise paid, and free apps, movies, music, and ebooks which people can buy or download for free on its Google Play App store.
The newer Amazon Kindle eReader, and Kindle Fire also now have ads on its lockscreen, and other locations on its software and operating system.
Some instant messengers like AIM, YIM, , MSN Messenger, etc have banner ads, and many people use these IM apps.
Same for me, I usually ignore the ads on IMs, and free chat rooms, but the Ads on Skype are the biggest, so they are still noticeable because of their size.
