A post on Weibo recently revealed the company’s alleged LeEco Le 2S smartphone, which according to the rumored specs could very pack as much as 8GB of RAM under its hood. This will also make it a first for any smartphone maker as the highest we’ve seen so far would be 6GB in the OnePlus 3, the Vivo Xplay 5, and the Galaxy Note 7 for China.
8GB of RAM is a nice amount of RAM for users who have many web browser tabs, apps, and games open at the same time. A lot of modern websites, games, and apps sometimes uses a lot of RAM, and CPU resources.
I wonder would more people now consider buying Chinese phones from LeEco with 8GB of RAM instead of American phones like the iPhone, or South Korean phones made by Samsung and LG.
I bet, it should perform well because Android and other mobile operating system sometimes uses a lot of RAM when many big apps, and games are open in the background.
The extra RAM would make it possible for Android to load more apps to the faster RAM instead of relying on the slower swap/virtual ram partition on the internal storage.
