I haven't really enjoyed the 3DS Lego games so far. They always feel gimped in content compared to the console versions. But with Best Buys Buy 2 get 1 sale last week I needed a third game to buy (other 2 were Paper Mario and Theaterythym) so I figured I'd take a chance since it was free.
First I noticed that the combat feels a lot more satisfying than the other Lego games. It actually kinda reminds me of the old PS2 LOTR games. Also, while this version isn't free roam, it feels more like an adventure game because you travel from place to place instead of being separated into levels.
The story feels abridged, unfortunately. An issue that always happens in Lego games and I don't understand why. Still, if your familiar with the movies, you get the gist of it.
