Just read this from Siliconera:

VJ Gamer showed off some images of the box and its contents. Should someone purchase the 2,646 piece set, they’ll be able to build a replica of an NES, an NES controller, a Super Mario Bros. NES cartridge, and an antenna TV with Mario on it. The TV itself will have a crank, which will allow you to make a the “level” onscreen scroll. People will be able to move the “Mario” to have him avoid obstacles.

The VJ Gamer images also showed it as being Lego Mario compatible. People will apparently be able to put Mario on top of the TV to make it play different sounds from the game.

That's what I was thinking when I first saw this. If you are a NES fan and you like Legos as well, I can see some them getting this. Even if you don't get the Legos out of the box, it would still be worth some money some day if it's left in the box and still factory sealed. Usually a lego set will become worth a lot of money if it's still factory sealed in the box after it's been retired (meaning they don't sell it on the shelves anymore).

It just looks so cool and I love how they did the screen content with the Lego as well. Would love it but no way am I paying for it lol
