We have Mario, Mario NES, Luigi's Mansion, and now years after Lego Dimensions Sonic we get a more substantial set based on Green Hills.
Enough people voted for this on Lego Ideas that this one manifested into existence. Not too bad for those into Sonic that missed the Dimensions pack. All that has changed with this minifigure of Sonic to me is his shoe straps. Very cool 16-bit printed tiles and an offputting Dr. Robotnik. However, there are a lot of stages in Sonic that have not yet been covered and I can only hope fans have their way of making more levels now that the figure gets rereleased or even some of the bosses seen over the years.
For those who wish to see the instructions and references you get in them see a more in-depth review here: LEGO® Ideas review: 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog™ Green Hill Zone

This is a very nice Sonic The Hedgehog Lego set. The colors and design look like the original game for the Sega Genesis.

I love the idea of Lego IDEAs. So many great sets have been released thanks to people sharing their ideas on their and Lego approving them. Does anyone know if the original creator/designer gets commission?

I think they get royalties for the set and it has to get so many votes to get it as an official set.

That's pretty good then. Thought it would have been a one-time reward and then Lego forgets about them. There is a really cool Home Alone one that was approved and is now an official set.

Yeah, Home Alone, Sesame Street, Winnie the Pooh, Voltron, and Steamboat Willie are the ones that come to mind for me because of their recency.

I wish they'd give us a proper LEGO Sonic game. I guess with LEGO no longer being exclusive to WB Games, we might actually get that.

I can understand the building sequences being fast but the way it's designed I wouldn't find it attractive to go the classic Sonic route in set AND game but there are always Dimensions and if you don't have the packs there can always be rewritable tags online for you to use. I wouldn't necessarily say it would make poor sales but I would prefer the resources not be put there. If they made more Sonic characters in Collectible MiniFigure forms I would definitely want Silver.

I wasn't into Sonic that much when I was a kid. I was more into Mario. I would have loved to have those sets when I was a kid.
