We at IGN typically really enjoy the LEGO games, which combine simple gameplay with the fun of building stuff out of the little plastic blocks we tried to eat as children. That's why we're pretty excited about LEGO Universe, the LEGO series' first MMO, due out later this year, which aims to take the charm of the previous games and ramp up the fun levels by letting you play with as many of your buddies as you want. Besides the traditional MMO gear, questing and combat, LEGO Universe lets players create and race cars and build whatever they want in a free-build area. It's actually pretty cool.
Want to try it out for yourself? Well, thanks to Fileplanet, you can!
Tomorrow only, you will be able to try LEGO Universe out for yourself via the beta, and remember what it was like to want to put those little round single-bump pieces in your mouth and/or nose, but without the danger of you actually being able to do it!
The play time will take place between 11 am MDT and 6 PM MDT on Saturday June 26th. There is a contest for those who log in between 12 and 2 pm MDT, with LEGO Star Wars models up for grabs. Also, it's free!
So, if you were planning on weeping quietly to yourself this weekend, save that for Sunday, and spend Saturday tearing it up in LEGO Universe instead.
Fileplanet and IGN are both a part of Fox Interactive Media.
