Lenovo plans to “pre-install SweetLabs’ Pokki software, which provides a replacement for the dearly departed Windows Start menu” on new Windows 8 PCs that it will start shipping in the coming weeks.

I use Pokki Startmenu program, and it works pretty good. I like the theme of Pokki more than the Startmenu found in Windows Vista-7 since Pokki Startmenu/Startbutton looks more modern, and sleek.

The Web apps store in Pokki is also useful for finding plenty of free web apps to use on Windows desktop.

There is a darker theme which improves the look of it for darker wallpapers.
