Wow, I love to see this 8K TV. The TV's 8K video looks very realistic. I like that there is a wired Ethernet networking port.

I wish there is more than 4 HDMI ports. But, I guest, LG wanted to earn more money by just including 4 ports instead of 5 to 10 HDMI ports.

Remember when LCD tv’s we’re new. They also we’re demanding many ten thousand dollars. Now LCD’s have plumped in price dramatically. The same will go down with oled 8k! I love the look of the 8K Tim, I mean Caleb, can't wait for the tech companies to start making them in large numbers, so I can buy a cheaper 4K OLED

Yeah, its super cheap to get a nice flat screen these days which is fine. CRTs were a mistake.

CRT do work for many years without problems in my experience, so many people who used a CRT for many years probably feel the CRT was worth the $500 hundred dollars they spent on a CRT TV which may still work fine for watching TVs, DVDs, and playing older consoles.

I'll admit their life span was to be respected.
They do have basically non-existent input lag, high refresh rates, and because they don’t have a fixed resolution, every resolution looks good on them. Unlike modern display technology that doesn’t have scaling features, so you don’t have the problem of having really bad image quality when the image/whatever is below the resolution of your display.

If the resolution thing was non-existent (or upscalers were cheaper with no lag) retro gamers wouldn’t be looking for CRT’s outside of aesthetics.

It has those pros because things had to become prettier and different. I do miss the old days sometimes.

I also miss the old days of CRT Tube TV where a CRT last for many years, and the TV screen colors look very nice and bright even on cheaper tube TVs. The speakers are also very loud on some CRT TVs I own. There is also no image ghosting problems found on older and cheaper LCDs when playing fast pace games.

CRT tube TV also run hotter than LCD TV, so they may help with heating a small room during the winter months.

The large and heavy size of a CRT can also prevent robbers from stealing it.

I think it’s more of the inherent nature of a new format that becomes cheaper to produce, and the positives out way the negatives for a significant number of the population. When I first moved out of my parents’ place, I didn’t want or need a CRT, but when I started bringing my old consoles from home, it was more cost effective to just buy a CRT for $5, as opposed to hundreds to not have a garbage picture quality. Composite/RF on an LED is terrible.

As long as you can lift it thats fine.
