I agree, but Linux is getting more well known because a lot of those very cheap desktops and notebooks uses linux since it is free because it does not require people to buy a license to use it unlike Windows.
Plus, you can easily boot linux from a CD, USB flashdrive or hard drive, or over a network, so you don't even need a hard drive in your computer to use linux. It be very useful if your computer hard drive crashes and you want to watch youtube, or finish some work.
I think Linux be a good OS for poor people, or people who just use their computer for office work, youtube, e-mail, and non-gaming and media editing stuff.
