Remember how Microsoft cancelled the latest Fable game? And shut down its developers?

Well apparently, that didn't have to be the case. Supposedly, various buyers tried to save the company, but all the deals fell through because Microsoft wouldn't offer the Fable IP along with it:

I'm disappointed now. All these jobs could have been saved, and the company could have survived in some form, but now it's just too late.

What do you think?

This sounds like Microsoft didn't really care to let anyone else take control of this and they wanted to keep the fable game under their company. Which is pointless because why would you keep something that you're not even working on? Just look at what Microsoft did to skype over the past few years smh.
