SCEA and Media Molecule have made a new post on the PlayStation blog that gives a quick taste of what's to come download-wise for LittleBigPlanet, which officially hit stores this week. While the content will likely span other forms later on, the early stuff (at least what Sony and Media Molecule are willing to talk about now anyway) will be costumes.
To celebrate the launch of the game, and to make nice for some of the troubles that people have had, two costumes will be freely available for limited time. A Halloween mask and "Launch" Spacesuit will both be freely downloadable from November 6th through November 19th. After that, you're out of luck.
As for other content, it sounds like there may be something new in store for us every week along with the Thursday updates to the PlayStation Store. One update will include free costumes from the LittleBigChallenge that was held a little ways back.
Other costumes will be based on a two (perhaps three) tier pricing structure. Basic costumes will sell for 99 cents, and will include things like a frog or gorilla suit. Premium costumes will run for $1.99 and will include things like Sephiroth and Old Snake, which were announced back at TGS. Additionally, there will occasionally be Rare Sackboy costumes, which will be available only for limited times.
You will also be able to find bundles that group costumes together, making it easier (and cheaper) for collectors to pick them up. Basic costume bundles will run for $2.99 and will include four costumes, while the Premium bundles will include four costumes for $5.99.
