Or how it was supposedly cause of a second job (and the media blamed it on GamerGate regardless)?
Well it seems some people found out what said job was. Namely a 'call girl'. Oh christ:

What's worse is that this is just a really bad situation for Nintendo to be in. On the one hand, they were damn well right to fire this person. I mean, imagine what Disney would have done in the same situation. Oh wait, no need to imagine, poor Harlan Ellison found that one out:

So they have a large controversy on their hands, they keep everything as subtle as possible 'fired for having a second job', and then get thrown into the middle of a flame war between people wanting her fired and people not wanting her fired.
And then everyone finds out said individual was involved in prostitution and as an escort. That's got to be quite the blow for Nintendo's brand and reputation at the moment, and a blow they arguably didn't deserve at all.
