We've some good news to share for Mountain Lion users: OS X 10.8.3 is now available for download. As you'd expect, the new software brings a number of fixes and enhancements, but in a delicious twist of irony, the most substantial may very well be for Windows users. That's because version 10.8.3 introduces official support for Boot Camp with Windows 8, and it also brings compatibility for Boot Camp on Macs with hard drives larger than 3TB.

I bet a larger percentage of Mac OS X Bootcamp users will install Windows 8 on their Macs before PC users upgrade to Windows 8 because it is harder to find a copy of Windows 7 at electronics and computer stores which stop selling 7, and they don't know which version is best for them, so they install 8 instead of 7.

It could be a better option because Windows 8 most likely will stilll get Windows Updates, and other important software updates for MS Office, Internet Explorer, and Windows Defender from Microsoft in 10 or more years from now while Windows 7 might get abandoned in the near future like Windows 2000 by MS because it is older, and MS does not want to use as many workers to make and release software updates for Windows 7.

Plus, many Apple users also own iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touches, so they can use remote desktop software like Splashtop to access Windows 8 on their Mac PC from their iPad. Using Windows 8 on an iPad from Splash Top remote desktop is better than using Windows 7 because W8 is made for touch.
