FOX Sports' Jay Glazer is reporting that the Green Bay Packers have traded legendary quarterback Brett Favre to the New York Jets for a conditional draft pick.
Favre, who elected to come out of retirement earlier this month, will presumably take a physical for the Jets on Thursday. The Madden '09 Cover Athlete had decided to retire following a spectacular 2008 season for the Packers.
Updated: A previous version of this story stated that EA was intending to release a new cover of the game with Favre in a Jets uniform at a later date. An EA representative has now confirmed to us that this will not be the case, and that the only cover of the game will be Favre in his Packers uniform.
