Police in California have launched an investigation into why a man drove his Jeep off the roof of a six-level parking garage and into a McDonald’s across the street, a published report Sunday said.

Shortly after midnight Sunday local time, police reported finding a newer-model Jeep against a building, a news release from the Santa Monica Police Department said. The city’s fire department said it received information the Jeep had been driven off the top of a nearby parking garage, USA Today reported.

The Jeep’s sole occupant was a 20-year-old male driver who was conscious and speaking with police, the newspaper reported. He was not identified.


Police do not know why he did it but the driver is in stable condition.
 
It is good that he was not killed and can still talk after driving his jeep off the 6-story of a building. I feel his seatbelt, the jaap's steel metal boxy body and other safety features like airbags saved his life.

I wonder if he press the gas peddle instead of the brake peddle in his car, and the car moved forward and broke through the wall of the 6th floor garage. I'm guessing the builder of the garage did not use enough building materials like concrete, steel, and wood to stop cars from breaking through the wall.
 
It looks like some messy when the driver is in stable condition and he was not identified. The police should further investigate and send him to jail because he have traveled in a parking place. Punishment should be given to anyone those who faulty things.

I am glad that he is safe and I really hope that's just an accident and not intentional by any means
 
I was wondering that myself if the driver got confused and accidentally hit the gas pedal when he should have hit the brakes.

I'm glad the fellow is okay.
