Man how I would love another DK64 style game

I've recently been listening to the soundtrack (thanks to videogamedunkey and his use of one of the songs, darn it), and it's made me really want to clear this game 101% again.

Of course, this means I need to drag the goddman N64 out because it's not on Wii VC (and I can't get it working fluidly through "other means" either, which is a pain in the rear).

But my goodness, how I badly want another game like this again! It was so fun, all the collecting, and the music was brilliant. That said, I just have a feeling we'll never see DK and his friends end up in shenanigans like these ever again. That's fine by me if we're getting some quality platformers instead, but I will still forever crave another game like this.

I just love those collect-a-thons. Even the pissy mini-games are memorable somehow.

What are your thoughts on this game? And would you like a remake, or a new one altogether, to appear on the 3DS or future consoles?

I wonder if Nintendo will make a remake of this game for the 3DS even though I've never played it I want to play it except this time as a remake like the other N64 remakes you know what I mean Star Fox 64 3D and Legend of Zelda OoT 3D.

The only problem is the whole RARE issue. I'm not too clued up on it, but as far as I know, they're limiting what games can be reproduced/what characters can be used or something along those lines.

WHAT?!? This sucks.

Yes.
But i'd rather it for the Wii U

3DS, WiiU, any console will please me!

I mean, what ever happened to Lanky and co.? Do Rare own them (in a similar fashion to how Waluigi is "owned" by Camelot or something) and are pretty much dead for eternity?

I miss my inflatable Lanky...

Oh this game. I love this game so much. I can only play it on my Nintendo 64 since no other console will provide it. It is such an amazing game. Not only that, but this is the only game where Tiny is actually. well. tiny. and not tall.

I would like to see it. Actually, been thinking of playing it for a little while now. Sadly, we traded in the original N64 cartridge of the game simply because (at the time) no-body in the house could actually get anywhere past saving Diddy Kong. Playing through 'other means' on my PC however, I've gotten quite far with it but never actually beat the game, let alone getting 101%.

So yeah, sure: I'd like to see this game get a remake, or even a Donkey Kong game in a similar style would be fun.

Oh man, don't remind me how they ruined Tiny...

And wait, that means that they can use those characters; whoops, completely forgot about those appearances, heh. I remember Lanky Kong being in DK Barrel Race or whatever it was.

So I busted out the N64 and started playing. Only took one shake of the cartridge to get it going, which was kinda surprising. But yeah, let the fun ensue! 101%, here we come!

I'd bust out my N64 and play several games if I had them. You should make an LP of this at some stage if you can.

I would if I had an AV cable to connect to my computer or whatever so that I directly record the TV screen, but I don't. Which stinks. A lot.
