Manga, Anime or Both?

I've realised that, when it comes to me, I usually watch anime more than I read manga. Somehow I find watching anime more engaging and entertaining. Just recently, I'd found out that there's a manga about an anime that I'm watching almost daily, Akatsuki no Yona, and as I started reading it, I both enjoyed it, but I also gave up on it very soon. I think that I'd read the first twelve issues before I turned back to anime. Although manga was well made and anime had followed it very closely, I still opted for anime.

For me, manga is complementary to anime, it seems. I love reading it, but I love anime more. There's also the question of visual appeal: anime fully engages our eyes. Plus, it's done in colour. Reading asks for less attention and as it's black-and-white, eyes get tired easier. At least when it comes to me.

What about you? What would you choose? Reading manga or watching anime? Or both?

It has been literal years since I last saw an anime. I'm struggling to to remember the last one I watched. I think it probably was Princess Mononoke, maybe 3 years ago. Worth noticing how that's actually a movie-length  anime.

For me it comes down to my love of reading -- I read a lot of books yearly -- and this influences my relationship with anime x manga as well. I read manga regularly, and if a manga has an anime adaptation, I usually just stick with the manga. It's just a medium (reading) I find personally more entertaining. Not to mention animes riddled with fillers and such.

Case in point, I have read the entirety of One Piece manga but have never watched a single episode of the anime.

Mostly anime, only when the anime don't cover it all do I take up the manga.

Anime for me, although I do enjoy reading the manga associated to the anime once in a while.

I want to get into the follow up manga for Girls und Panzer but I'm not too sure if I'll like it or not.
