Chip maker Mediatek is preparing to enter the laptop business, with the first Chromebooks based on its processors due to appear soon.
 
The company also showed a Chromebook prototype with its 64-bit MT8173 quad-core processor and a USB Type-C port.

This does look like a nice affordable Chromebook laptop. I'm surprise that it can play 4K video, and support a 2K display.
