If that is what they choose to do, otherwise, they should just invest their money into one or two devices that do it all and also stock up on cargo pants..
i don't carry a purse per se.. it's more like a back pack, and when I don't carry it, (which is most of the time,) I just carry my stuff in the pockets of my jeans or cargo pants..
Besides, I've heard that Asian and European men do carry around bags for their stuff, and without any problem.. then again, they are usually more secure in their masculinity than American men, and that is evident whenever they decide to make fun of these men for carrying their belongings in a bag.
I just buy a Smartphone, or 7 inch tablet, and use it as my laptop, MP3 player, and video player. I think men can carry around laptop bags, or brief cases which are like purses, but with more pockets, and storage space.
You can also use a Messenger bag which looks like those bags which the paper boy wears to deliver Newspapers, but Messenger bags are usually more stylish and well-made.
A school bag is fine as well, but it kind of makes you look like a college student or high schooler, so a school bag might not be as good for a man in his 30s and older which want to look professional because he is working as a lawyer, office worker, manager or Professor.
