It seems like many people like buying official Microsoft products like Surface Pro, Surface RT, Xbox, Kinect, etc instead of third party PCs from HP, Acer, etc with the Windows 8 OS installed on it.

The Surface Pro 128GB is kind of expensive, but I guest it can be easier to get help using one since you can just walk into a Microsoft store, and ask a technician or sales staff for help at the MS Store like how if your Apple computer breaks down, you just phone up Apple, or go to the Apple Store for help, and they fix it for you if you buy Apple Care, or pay them money which is not always the case for PCs made by HP, Lenovo, Asus, and other brands where you have to phone a PC help number, and ship it back to the factory for weeeks to get it fix, and sometimes the staff delete all your data to reinstall Windows which happen to a person I know, and they lost all their files.

You could get a gaming laptop for $900. It's a tossup between buying a tablet with its own keyboard case or buying a laptop with a keyboard you can't remove, (which probably doesn't have a touch screen,) and a real desktop OS.

4 hours of battery life for a "Pro" anything is kinda lack luster when you think about it. My 13 year old Apple iBook G3 Clamshell came with a 6 hour battery.

That's right:

THIS had better battery life than the surface pro.

The pro isn't a bad product, but for the price one mine as well get a laptop to do the same job.
