I will be gearing up for the
Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate I just want to know if its worth the certification to have for a better career advancements besides CompTIA in the IT field as I know every company uses Microsoft products I don't see this cert name on any Job sites mostly I see is A+ and Network+ and other CompTIA certs listed on job boards

Yeah I am suppose to take this now -_- don't feel like going for the exam as they say its challenging

Are you just taking random carts or are you researching what types of positions are looking for it? Some of these threads look like you’re taking random carts for the sake of having carts.

Had a... partner in crime so to speak just go out and get lots of random certs (not even taking the time to get A+) and he now works as a DM for a local bakery doing nothing with IT, so much fail.

I’ve seen a few do something similar and were like “why can’t I get a higher position?”.

More certs do help, but you gotta be cohesive with them. I have Sec+ and CYSA+. I might eventually get SSCP or CISSP.

Some of these threads you make on certs don’t look cohesive, on top of the threads where you got a cert and asked if it was worth it after you got it. It gives the perception that you’re picking certs willy bully and then asking about them afterwards if you wasted your time/money as a form of validation.

It just looks bad when you go and get a cert, and then ask a bunch of rando’s online about it afterwards if you wasted your time. It should have been something you asked before you got the cert.

I’m not sure why you have a Google cert if you’re trying to be a Microsoft sys ad

Again I wanted to do MCSA Exam with the Google Cert as my school friends had got it but it had expired so I could not take it and I am not sure if the new MS Cert is better most jobs talk about the MCSA Certs on the job board

You could call them and ask if the new ones count, unless they’re explicitly asking for X many years of experience, which is where the MCSA certs will come up.

I’m just saying, these threads come off as random and wishy washy. I know you’re having trouble getting a job in this field, but grabbing random certs with no research isn’t going to help you. Look at what these positions want/require and go for those.

And I understand what your getting at I am looking for Jr Server Admin or System Admin Mostly towards Windows Server or Windows OS Less with the nitty gritty stuff hardware networking etc although yes its needed but I am searching more geared towards Window and most jobs require me to have at least 5-10 years of exp to be Server Admin or Sys Admin and I need a lot of networking exp I am looking for Certs that has a flexiblity between both Sys And Server Admin what I know so far its CompTIA Network+ and Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate & CompTIA Server+

Ignore the required experience, apply for anything and prove you have the understanding to run things. Even if you have the '5-10 years of experience' you're still going to be googling things and running to the server support for help.

Yeah but I don't know why like for IT they require so much exp most of time even though it just like Jr Server Admin etc

Well in hind sight you don't want some noob running your servers, I'm going to get some more training here soon for the servers I took over. But its better to bring in someone who has the know how and then train them as everyone is different.
