Multi Microsoft and Sony have signed a binding agreement to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation

Microsoft and Sony have signed a deal to keep the Call of Duty franchise on PlayStation if Redmond's bid to acquire Activision Blizzard is successful.

The deal was announced via tweets Sunday from the Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, and Vice Chair and President of Microsoft, Brad Smith.

Microsoft has already signed similar deals with Nintendo and streaming services like Nvidia's GeForce Now, both for 10 years. Today's deal doesn't mention a specific timeline, but The Verge reports the Sony agreement is also for 10 years. In December, Microsoft reportedly told Sony it could offer the Call of Duty series as part of a PlayStation Plus subscription for at least 10 years if the deal goes through.

It all worked out, but let this be a lesson in Microsoft not really caring about exclusivity anyways because they still make money on publishing.
