Is Microsoft watching your every move on the recently-released Windows 10 Technical Preview? That may be the case thanks to portions of Microsoft's privacy policy, which indicates that the company is using a keylogger, among other methods, to obtain information about the software's performance. This is likely one of the reasons why Microsoft insists that Windows Technical Preview not be installed on computers that are used every day.

"When you acquire, install and use the Program, Microsoft collects information about you, your devices, applications and networks, and your use of those devices, applications and networks," the privacy policy stated. "Examples of data we collect include your name, email address, preferences and interests; browsing, search and file history; phone call and SMS data; device configuration and sensor data; and application usage."

I think it is a good idea not to use Windows 10 technical preview for tasks like online banking, or even posting on social networks, so your data like browsing history, and banking data is safer.

Nothing new really, info is being collected on everything.

I agree, you are not free from anything any more and are always being watched even if you don't know it which is a shame. It's like Big Brother everything you do can be seen regardless of whether you have given them permission or not and they always claim that they do it to better their services but we all know that is not true.

I think many alternative based operating systems like Tails OS don't collect info, and help you protect your privacy.

Tails is a live operating system, that you can start on almost any computer from a DVD, USB stick, or SD card. It aims at preserving your privacy and anonymity.

But, I think a lot of the popular operating systems like Windows, and Mac collect information about users.

I think not caring is not a very good way to keep a person's information safe since there is always a chance of a hacker, spy,  bad employee within a trusted company stealing all your data to sell to the bad guys like the Russian Mafia which use your info to take out a loan or credit card from a bank.
