After nine months in alpha, Microsoft Flight Simulator will graduate to a closed beta on July 30. Access to the beta follows the same rules as the alpha: you'll need to sign up to the Xbox Insider Program in order to have a chance to receive an invite, though thankfully it's free. Everyone with current access to the alpha will automatically gain access to the forthcoming beta.See the full notes here.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is still officially scheduled to release in 2020.

If you aren't on there discord server you get update before blogs get to type it up :p

Too bad no combat at all in Ms Flight Simulator lol. I am sticking with DCS and its excellent story campaign missions.

Maybe one day. Until then, I'll have to suffer by only being able to watch gameplay videos of these flight simulators :(

Star Wars squadrons will be for consoles too and looks promising, and it looks like the game is more on "sim-y-ish" rather than arcade-y with star wars universe fighters, interceptors and bombers:

P3D hype still then MSFS2020 hype after that BANG!

Yeah, I saw that when it was announced and it does look pretty good. But it's not the same as a proper flight simulator. I like planes so normal flight simulators have always been interesting.
