Microsoft is experimenting with AI in Minecraft to let players tell the game what to do.
In an internal demo of the AI, players were able to tell the game to build something like a fort or castle, describe how they wanted it to look, and watch as the game followed their instructions, Semafor reports
According to Semafor, there are no immediate plans to roll the AI tech out in public versions of Minecraft. PCMag reached Microsoft for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
The AI, which uses natural language interpretation, similar to ChatGPT, was reportedly made in partnership with OpenAI. In January, Microsoft said it was making a “multiyear, multibillion-dollar investment” in the AI company—reportedly as much as $10 billion.
