Microsoft stopped actively developing Windows Media Center in 2009, but the company still shipped an unmodified version in an upgrade pack for Windows 8. The software giant is planning to kill off Media Center in Windows 10, meaning any PCs upgraded from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 will lose the feature. Microsoft confirmed the plan to ZDNet’s Ed Bott in a recent interview.

It is too bad that Windows Media Center is no longer available in Windows 10. But, I guest Microsoft removed Windows Media Center to save some space, so Windows 10 can be installed on devices with less free storage space like PCs which only have 16 GB flash memory storage.

I am not sure what this is... I don't remember ever using it or even seeing it on any of my computers... It's not related to Movie Maker and Photo Viewer, right?
No, it is not related to Movie Makers or Photo viewer.

Windows Media Center is a full screen video and music player which makes it easier for you to play DVD movies, video files, TV from a TV tuner card,  and photos on a bigger TV with a keyboard, and mouse.

I think Media Center only came with Windows XP Movie Center Edition, Windows Vista and 7 Home Premium and above(Pro/Ultimate), and it was an optional paid feature for Windows 8.1/8.

What?! I use if often for my pictures. Damn, well that sucks. Really glad I stuck with W7.
Indeed, I sometimes use it for viewing pictures sometimes as well.

But, I mostly use Windows Media Center for playing DVD movie discs since it is one of the most reliable free DVD player software for Windows.

Windows Media Center is also needed to stream video, pictures, and music from your Windows PC to the Xbox 360. Maybe Microsoft discontinue Media Center to make people upgrade to the Xbox One which will use another way to stream video, pictures, and music from a PC without Media Center.

Yeah, I definitely never used this. I still have a Windows 7 laptop, but I used other programs to play DVD movies and video files. BS Player and Nero... I think...

Ehh that's fine with me honestly. I use to use it for all my pictures, but I just use Imgur.com exclusively now. If it frees up space for other stuff that's fine for me.
