I use OpenOffice, LibreOffice, and MS Office 2007. I prefer Open Office and LibreOffice the most because they are free and easy to use, and seem a bit faster then MS Office.
Well ever since MS stopped me from using their products for free..... jerks..... I perfer Open Office and all-in-all I would say that is about the same as MS, but maybe a bit faster.
LibreOffice is just based on OpenOffice since some of the programmers don't want to work on OpenOffice since they are afraid of Oracle turning it into a paid product, so they just took the OpenOffice code, and used it to make LibreOffice which would never become paid.
Libre and Open Office are the same, but Open is owned by Oracle while Libre is the newer versions which programmers which don't like Oracle work on.
Both Libre and Open work on Windows, Mac, Linux, and a bunch of other OSes, but you need to remember to save your files as .DOC or .DOCX and other MS Office files or you can't open them on MS Office 2003-2010.
Indeed it is. I would not pay for Open Office as well.
I wonder if MySQL database code would also become LibreSQL since MySQL is now also owned by Oracle, and Java is also now under Oracle control. But, MySQL, and JAVA are programming languages, so it would be more difficult to control on how to sell a language which people use to make databases and programs.
Oracle is like Microsoft they make paid products mostly paid database products.
