Bloomberg is reporting that Microsoft is one of several companies “in talks” to purchase chat and community platform Discord, for a price said to be in excess of $10 billion.

The report says Microsoft is “in the running”, but that talks are continuing and no deal has yet been made. A source indicates that “Discord is more likely to go public than sell itself”

It would be interesting to see what ends up happening with Discord if they do purchase them. Discord on Xbox consoles would be pretty cool to see one day

People are more worried about MS ruining discord like they did with Skype.

Though let's focus on the fact they want to drop TEN BILLION DOLLARS on this! I mean, billions! Do you know what I would do with just one billion dollars? What is one billion dollars? I don't even know and may never know :(

It is definitely a lot. I think we all forget how big just $1 billion is. It's easier to comprehend how massive it is when you say $999.9 million.

How’d they ruin Skype? It doesn’t seem like it’s changed much in 15 years.

It's like when DeviantART did their change, people were bitching up a storm.
Yet they still use it.

I had some music composition software that got updated with a lot of well welcomed features that a ton of people wanted. So you'd think people would be happy for the update, but no, because they changed the UI, they'd rather go without the features that they wanted, and stick to the more limiting previous version.
