If this game does well, there will also possibly be a movie for it:
If this game does well hopefully it means Capcom realizes their extreme stupidity and give the Mega Man series another shot.

It would certainly be a big slap in their face since they claim Mega Man lacks fan support and thus would not sell to well in todays market, if Mighty No. 9 (which is obviously HEAVILY Mega Man'like) happens to sell well it would prove Capcom completely wrong

The fact that this game got greenlighted because of the sheer amount of fan support already must have Capcom rethinking things.

Did you watch the trailer though? I love what they did with the dash.

But yeah, but you do know if they do try to reboot Megaman they will get a lot crap for trying to take attention away from MN 9.

I think the only way the Megaman series will see new light if capcom sells off the rights to someone who can breath new life into the series. No MM 11 or MM X 9, after this there needs to be a complete reboot.

I disagree there.
Mega Man doesn't need a reboot, I have always said that a series should only go the reboot route if they have nothing else to explain in series or games to make.
Mega Man series such as Mega Man X (which is my favorite) still does not have a final game made, we still need a elf wars game to wrap things up with that timeline.
Mega Man Zero however ended the right way in my opinion, but lets not forget about Mega Man Legends 3 which many fans wanted and got canned.

Capcom came under a lot of heat from the fans for the DmC reboot, If they where to give Mega Man another shot I doubt they would risk such heat again.

And yea, I watched the trailer, it looks fantastic and the dash system looks fun and neat.

If they had more story to do with MM X, I would think it be drafted into a game by now. I really didn't care for X7 and X8 much and I feel that X9 just wouldn't be any better which is why the series needs a reboot with a fresh story, better mechanics and something different.

How could that be though?

its obvious that they had merely grown tired of the X series after MMX8 and just moved on the the zero series and eventually ZX series.

it wasn't them not having more story since as I pointed out before the Elf Wars was a HUGE event during the X series that never had a game, it was merely them moving on before finishing their work.

perhaps they could never get the story to the point where they could make a game on it.
They got the story to that point with MMX6 when they had Zero put to sleep to remove the remainder of the Zero Virus in his body.

It was confirmed in a interview that that ending happened at a unspecified time period, but I believe they only said that after MMX7 and MMX8 where released which pretty much ignored the Zero ending in MMX6.

Zero did not awaken until the Elf Wars after that sleep which means the perfect chance for them to have made a game like that would have been with MMX7, why they did not is beyond me, but I think it may have had something to do with the fact that the Zero series had just started around the time of MMX6 and they where just in the earlier concept of the whole Elf Wars thing which was only introduced in the Zero series.

You do know or remember that megaman X series was suppose to end at either X5 or X6 and yet force to continue. No matter what X7 and X8 are really just filler which I doubt added much to the leading of the elf wars. Like I said they may have come up with the concept of the elf wars in the Zero series but they may not have had enough to make a game.
