Mighty No. 9 was due out on February 9th 2016, only a few weeks away and yet the game has just been delayed yet again. The reason is posted here, but in short its the network setup which is an issue on many versions of this game which is due to come out on PC, Mac, Linux, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, 3DS, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. They hope to release sometime in spring 2016.

So the game itself is done, but held up because online isn't working :squint:

The game is done and was supposed to release months ago. But a feature that wasn't even on the original backing is holding it up. It's unacceptable.
I heard it's online play annnd you've already said it in your first post >.<)/

Some people said it would have been better if they just released the game and included it later down as DLC.

Now our case is that the MP is already built into the game itself and we started the mastering process as “a game with MP”. To cut out the MP from the current build, it will result in the entire process starting from scratch:
1. Cut out the MP from the current build.
2. Bug test all builds without the MP.
3. Build the MP patch.
4. Bug test all patches for all platforms.
5. Resubmit everything as Single Player only game. Not just the build itself but the paperwork and everything we have been doing these past few months.
6. Submit the MP portion of game as Patch. This requires additional paperwork, and another separate approval process.

As you can see, this would negate a lot of the work already done and result in an even longer delay until release,
without even taking into account the fact that removing a feature like this could result in new unexpected bugs to appear.

Oh well, guess it's everything or nothing in this case.

I refuse to believe they can't disable (That's disable, not remove) the online option and ship out the story part of the game. If what they say is true, the online portion should have been set up and done since the start.
