The younger generation is still devouring shows and movies but they are doing so on computers, tablets and smartphones.

The findings of the annual Deloitte Digital Democracy Survey represent a milestone in that the company claims it is the first time that the television has been eclipsed in favor of another device for watching TV shows.

I think one of the main reason for younger people not using TV as much for watching TV and movies because owning a TV cost more than a tablet, smartphone, and computer which all can be bought for under $200 if you are willing to use Google Android, Linux, or Chrome OS devices.  You also don't need a room to use a tablet, smartphone, laptop. Smaller desktop computers like the Intel NUC, and small LCD screens also use verry little space compared to a TV, Cable box, DVD player, Blu-Ray Player, and Game consoles.

Cable TV, DVDs, Blu-Ray discs, and Video Rentals from Rental stores are kind of expensive compared to the internet which is sometimes free at school, colleges, libraries, and restaurants. YouTube, Dailymotion, Vimeo, Crackle and Crunchyrolls are also free, and Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon video are also more affordable at $10 a month or less.

I wonder would Video Games be the next type of entertainment which is played on computers, tablets and smartphones when fewer young people use or own TVs.
