Those crazy kids over in Japan are putting together a co-op shooter for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It's called MindJack and, as you might guess, the action revolves around the concept that "hacking" into another person's mind, or even a car or other vehicle, is not only possible but encouraged. Add in some futuristic environments and a few RPG elements and you've got yourself a game. At least that's the plan at Square Enix and developer feelplus, with the game due out this October.
MindJack takes place in the year 2031. You step into the shoes one member of a rogue squad of agents, fighting for survival as the world's governments fall to pieces. New technologies of mysterious origins have come to market, bringing enough power to create new factions fighting for control.
It is said to offer a solo campaign with a robust story, while offering a seamless transition into the online co-op game. Players can build experience points to improve their hacking skills -- which allows them the freedom to control most any character or vehicle in the world – or their strength and gun skills.
