With so much talk of NPC villages, hunger meters, and new creepy monsters – just a few of the many cool additions planned for Minecraft update 1.8 – anticipation for the next version of the popular indie game is building to a peak. Thankfully, eager crafters won't have to wait much longer to get their hands on the "Adventure Update."
Earlier this week, Mojang development team member Jens Bergensten posted on Twitter that the major update was due to launch sometime around Sept. 8th. Today, he noted it may take a little longer than expected to go live. "Looks grim to get a release out on [the] 8th," Bergensten said. "We need more testing, one day is not enough. And we never release on Fridays."
