At its E3 press conference just moments ago, a A 360 version of Minecraft was just announced. The game will support Kinect, and will be out this winter. How the sandbox style, build-anything game will work with the 360 remains to be seen, but the possibilities are remarkable... just imagine the huge community of Live in a Minecraft server, with the ability to build any kinds of structures they can dream of.

More info as it become available.

Imagine Kinect with minecraft. Possibilities are endless. Your going to be working out your arms and training biceps mining diamond blocks. I think this combination is actually great. You will actually feel like you are exploring the world in person. Not to mention if minecraft is made on the 360, graphics for the game is bound to be much better. This is actually pretty exciting news!

I'm not sure if they mean that the entire Minecraft game will be played using Kinect. Perhaps some portions of the game may involving using Kinect (special modes), while others may simply just be on XBox Live, kinda like Harry Potter - majority of the game played on XBox Live with an option to fight bosses with Kinect if I'm not mistaken.

I can't really imagine how the person will look like when Minecraft is played using Kinect. It will be really tiring. In addition the Xbox 360 Kinect is not very sensitive from my experiences with it, but nonetheless a graphics upgrade will definitely be worth looking forward to on minecraft will definitely be worth looking forward to!

This announcement was a surprise yes. But not all that great. I guess it's good for people that may not have every wanted to play it because it was on the PC. But this game without a controller may be very gimped. Here's to hoping the game has a controller option at least. Because if it doesn't this is one game I won't buy.

I doubt the graphics will be any better as the graphics were done pixelated on purpose. After all, you do see games with better graphics on the PC. That's why I think it will be very disappointing for many players since Xbox 360 was meant to be played with a high resolution and with games with good graphics. Minecraft is exactly the opposite.

My friend told me this, thought it was a joke, how am i meant to mine? i'll look like an idiot swaying my hands, / no mods :(

Honestly this will probably be the best game for Kinect. Minecraft just seems like a game that would fit that type of console. It will be very tiring but it will actually feel realistic, unlike the other games. Unfortunately, I do not have Kinect. Does anyone know if this will be out for Xbox360 as well? If not I do not mind because you can just play it on the computer and not get tired!

Right on.
The blocky world is the style of Minecraft just like TF2s car toony look and Borderlands cel shading.

Yeah you could be right.
I find that certain games require too much to be done completely through human motion.

Kind of underwhelming announcement here. (Especially for me since I have no Xbox, don't care about kinect at all and I don't even like Minecraft.) Minecraft for the kinect... Probably best just to stick to the PC on this one. I can't really see the kinect bringing all that much to the game. Making it work on the XBL isn't worth it either since the Minecraft moder community is already larger and can do more anyway. Though for those who never played it, it might be a chance to get into it. (And then go play it on the PC where it probably should be played.)
