In the past year, Minecraft has added one mob vote loser (the beautiful copper golem), which is much more than they usually add.
There are around 11mobs that have lost the infamous mob and biome votes of old, and today I'm going to be ranking these 11 mobs from what I'm not really missing all that much to what I want to see most.
I'm excluding the 2017 mob vote from this because they're not being added to the game and honestly I don't really care about them.
Without further ado, number 11.
11. Termites
I mean, I'm not even sure if they would be a mob but I figured the developers would give them a model. Regardless, these would only be interesting as a potential food source and I can't say that I'd be happy to see them. Simply put, there's so much more interesting mobs to add, what would termites actually provide?
10. Ostrich
Ostriches are cool in real life, but they also never really felt like a must have for Minecraft, I'm honestly pretty fine with them not being added and wouldn't really care if they stayed on this list. They're just so…plain, they wouldn't really do much for the game in my opinion.
9. Glare
If the Glare was added in as a light source, it'd be a pretty great addition to the game but as it stands, this would just be a very boring mob.
8. Moobloom
Kind of the same problem as the Glare, it's just not an interesting mob conceptually. I'd guess it could be a good flower source but, was anything below not available?
7. Meerkat
They're cute at least. I'd find them more interesting than the mobs above for whatever that's worth. I'm fine if they weren't added in but if I had to choose something, I'd pick this over the mobs above.
6. Rascal
The rascal is only this high because everything else is so-so. Honestly, I could probably flip between this and Meerkats but a mineshaft mob would be more interesting to me.
5. Tuff Golem
Tuff Golems are weird, in that I would find them cool, but they also kind of suck conceptually. They're this high up mostly because everything else is just sort of there. At least it'd be a new golem.
4. Vulture
Vultures are just neat and if I had to pick a biome vote loser I'd choose this one. It probably wouldn't be that useful but at least I care about this mob, which doesn't say much I guess.
3. Penguin
Look, Penguins are fantastic animals and I find it offensive that anyone wouldn't have them high up on this list. They wouldn't be useful but damn they'd be excellent at making me happy and that's all I really want in the world.
2. Crab
Crab claws would be fun to mess with. This entire mob is just a way for me to get a grappling hook in vanilla Minecraft, as such, it's going in second place
1. Iceologer
Icologers are a cut above everything else. A mob that attacks you with magic is very different from the rest of Minecraft and seeing it being added would be a dream come true.
Well, that's the list. As to whether or not we'd actually see any of these mobs in the game anytime soon…well…I doubt the copper golem was just a one thing time.
