Minecraft Officially Launched

Onstage at MineCon in Las Vegas, Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson hit a giant, pixilated switch, symbolizing the release of the "full version" of Minecraft, or Minecraft 1.0. Immediately upon hitting the switch, balloons and streamers spewed forth, and the development team at Mojang began an impromptu dance party.

Logging into Minecraft now updates the client to version 1.0, so bid farewell to the old beta messages. They're gone for good.
