Just post about your exploits and adventures in Minecraft. I'll start with some pictures.

I am also currently working on making Rapture from Bioshock.

Nothing is more fun than discovering a cave system with a buddy and then exploring it.

Also, there's a lot more to do than dig for diamonds (although that is your first objective in the game). Everybody's world is randomly generated, thus giving each user their own unique experience. Every block in the game can be picked up and moved someplace else. There's also loads of monsters in Minecraft. Check out some of these videos for more about the game.

My mine with some monsters in it:

Great minecart ride that shows off what you can do in the game:

There are a couple really good Let's Plays of Minecraft.

SeaNanner's: http://www.youtube.com/user/SeaNanners#p/c/33B2523A0F571466

It does. I can't understand why it's popularity has exploded so much lately. :/

Exactly. A boring game and suddenly the popularity for it explodes. I'd never heard of it until this fad started. Who's responsible for it anyways? Is it just the fact the game's new/had a new update recently, or is it just the fact that someone built something, uploaded it to Youtube, and now everyone's doing it?

You guys keep calling this a boring game like you have actually played it.... or actually know what the game is about.

Protip: an Indie game that's still in Alpha phase doesn't sell over 600,000+ copies and become the most popular thing on the internet because it's boring.

It may not be that it is boring, it just sounds boring, overrated, and holy crap, 600,000+?! O_O

That's essentially what I meant. Sorry Spaceman Spiff:

You're right. I'll give it a try, so long as my PC can handle the speed/memory.

Personally, from what I played of it, the game's got some good potential to be one of the best building games in history. BUT, it still seems almost like there's something missing.

I'm not sure what it is, but it could be the fact that (from what I played of it, which was the free version, and only for an hour) there is nothing really to do. Just build and destroy. Granted, almost everything can be built and destroyed, but there's nothing else to do from what I know of. There's no quests, no missions, and I never saw a so-called 'monster' in the game, but these might be available only to those who register/buy the full version, which I don't want to do.

Also, despite the fact that there is a free version, a game like that shouldn't have to played in the browser like I had to. Should be a down-loadable software on the PC, much like most of the MMORPG's I have (and don't play).

So, in my thoughts, its a bit boring after only 10 minutes, because there's really nothing to do except build and destroy. Not to mention it can take ages to build something truly amazing, and the fact that I couldn't find anything that was really worth my time, such as a monster or something. This may be because I didn't register or because I had not (and will not) purchased the full version.

Hate to say it, but I'll stick to Railroad Tycoon II and Age of Empires when I play on my PC, I like them much more.

You played the old Creative mode, which is just a virtual lego simulator. Alpha mode is actually a game (and it's downloadable). If you watched any of those videos I posted you'd know this >_>

Yeah, I watched a bit of one of the videos you posted. Unfortunately for me, I can't get the Alpha version, since it requires a purchase and I can't purchase anything on the internet since my parents don't like it, and they'd never say yes to a game. Sorry.
