While Markus "Notch" Persson may have been the developer and Internet superstar behind Minecraft, the reigns were handed over sometime around 2011's Minecon. Notch's friend and long-time partner, Jens "Jeb" Bergensten, is taking over as lead developer on Minecraft.

Speaking with Gamasutra, Bergensten gave hints about the way he wants to update the game, and how his changes will come more in the form of ease of use than new creatures and game features. For instance modding and making servers still continues to be very unfriendly to new users, so for Mojang, "there's a change in priorities, that we really need to like open up the game for other developers to add mods, and share mods, and run servers more easily." Jeb plans to "work less on features, and more on the kind of engine part of the game."

The bottom line, though, is that despite hitting it's "final" release in November, Minecraft will "never be done." Jeb has simply changed his priorities because he wants to make it easier to use mods and other features, knowing that the community will continue to make plenty of new content.

I meant you wouldn't be able to add anything more. You would be stuck with what they give you, unless fan's really amped up the mod creations.
