Have you ever been mistreated on a website before?

Yes, I was banned for questioning about my warning about my grammar as it was bad years ago I use Grammarly now.

I know back in the wild west days of the internet, and around the height of forums, it wasn't unusual to see power tripping moderators. This forum I'm still on used to be super easy to get banned on back in the day, I went through like 3 or 4 accounts. Around 2010 they had a staff restructure, and I've had the same account for 12 years.

I do miss the fun games where they have some dumb MS Paint contest, and if your art sucked (or wasn't funny), they would ban your account.

One huge forum I refuse to join is ResetEra. They're definitely notorious for being the worst types of people that are common on Twitter and old Tumblr. Essentially if you do anything that might trigger someone, the mods can and will ban you. Also they leave snarky remarks on your account and such for the reason why you were banned.

ResetEra forum reminds of a similar forum I joined also years ago called DevBest similar thing happened to me

They once also threatened me saying they know where I live based on my Ip address

Not that I recall. The worst would be people not understanding me or me acting out but still being pretty harmless. If I feel I didn't like the moderation I would leave a site. The best example was Smashboards. I made a tier list and someone who mains a different character than me on my main's thread would just complain to me how they disagree and the mods really didn't take a side and asked to stop, even when I give my concrete evidence.

Reminds me that any power tripping mods I knew, went on to make their own forums only to spectacularly fail at it.
