sourceMonster Tale Ultimate, a remake of the handheld 2D platformer that first launched on Nintendo DS back in 2011, has been announced by developer DreamRift.
Coming exclusively to 3DS, the remake was revealed in the latest issue of Nintendo Force, as reported by Nintendo Everything. According to the magazine, Monster Tale Ultimate won't be a half-baked port, as it improves "every single aspect of the adventure."
As such, players can expect redone visuals complete with stereoscopic 3D support, as well as refined gameplay that has undergone some rebalancing. Players will also have to option to switch between the original chiptune soundtrack and the new orchestral score.
Monster Tale Ultimate is expected to release this spring through Nintendo's eShop. While a retail version isn't currently in the works, DreamRift isn't ruling out the possibility sometime down the line. For more on Monster Tale, read IGN's review of the original DS release.
