More games based on the Indiana Jones franchise are in the works following the release of Bethesda Game Studios and MachineGames’ action-adventure game, The Great Circle, according to a new report.
Known insider DanielRPK took to Twitter/X to share that they’re heard about more games based on the Indiana Jones franchise being in development. They didn’t share any further details, such as the genre or developer behind said games.
Given the critical success of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, it’s highly likely that at least one of those games is in development at MachineGames. According to the LinkedIn profile of Pete Ward, Audio Director, the studio has been working on more than one unannounced title. Now that work on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has been completed, the development team is likely focusing on one of these projects.
In related news, it was recently reported that the launch concurrent player count stats for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle were below MachineGames’ previous titles. According to Steam charts, the action-adventure game reached an all-time concurrent player count of 8,148 players on the platform. It’s worth noting that the game has been available day one on Game Pass and has relatively high minimum system requirements due to its mandatory use of ray tracing. It also went through an Early Access period, which can notably affect the concurrent player count for a single-player title.
That said, Microsoft and Bethesda Softworks’ other recent release, Starfield, also went through some of the aforementioned constraints, but still managed to reach an all-time concurrent player count of 24,863. Meanwhile, Xbox Game Studios’ Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has an all-time peak of 104,891 players. Furthermore, the peak concurrent player count for Indiana Jones and the Great Cicle is lower than that of MachineGames’ previous releases, including Wolfenstein: The New Order at 11,986, and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus at 16,141.
