I am a huge fan of Mortal Combat. I played every game from Mortal Kombat One up to Mortal Kombat Nine. I am very excited with the new Kombat. It looks like it will add that envioronmental moves seen in Injustice. They look to be bringing back X-ray moves and of course Fatality's. Along with all this, the gameplay trailer showed one last piece of news that surprises me to no end. It looks like Mortal Kombat X will be adding new characters. The new characters look great and I can't wait to experiment with them when the game comes out.
Not the biggest fan of fighting games, (aside from Mortal Kombat). I do like the variants idea, especially when it's something you pick before the fight, rather than during it, as was the case in whatever MK game where each character had two fighting styles and a weapon style.
Anyway, it's good because a lot of people are already attached to a specific character as a favorite and will now be able to play them in whatever specific kind of style they want.

I love Mortal Kombat and this looks great! I've always liked the upgrades they put in every new version including the new characters, moves, and fatalities, and I'm sure I'll love this one as well. I just hope it's still as packed with extra features and minigames as the last one.
