Post the most overrated and the most underrated anime series you have ever watched.

Most overrated: Full Metal Alchemist (it's a good show, but not the masterpiece that everyone seems to consider it to be)

Most underrated: can't decide upon one yet, I'll think about it...

Why you say it's not a masterpiece?

Overrated: One piece.

underrated: Blast of tempest.

The central idea is good, but what they do with it evolved into a confusing mess that is dragged over many filler episodes. Also, I didn't find Hughes' death to be as touching as everyone I've talked to seems to have found it. For me, he was a goofy comic-relief character that became annoying and I was a bit relieved when they killed him off.

What do you mean by filler? anime filler or manga filler?

Most overrated: Naruto Shippuden

Okay, now that I've just offended every butthurt Anime Fan in existence, let's move on...

Most Underrated: Mobile Suit Gundam 00.

This show had the vast, planetary-sized balls of steel to tackle the subject of religious extremism AND terrorism a mere 5 years after 9/11, in a fair and reasonable way. This show also managed to tell a pretty damn good, character-driven story about a private armed cult-like organization, (Celestial Being,) using its vastly overpowered SuperGundams in an attempt to bully the governments of the world into ending all wars.

This show has plot twists out the ass. One minute you think you know what Celestial Being is all about, the next minute you're like: "what the fu%$#?!?"

pretty sure Japan's anime never stopped with terrorism despite what was happening with 9/11

I don't really think Japan gives too much importance to the events that happen in America. I mean, as tragic as 9/11 was, there are tragedies just as big happening in Africa and Arab countries where thousands of civilians are killed by terrorists, and they are completely overlooked by the media.

Most overrated anime: Gintama
It's just a normal anime with lots of stupid jokes.
