So MSI now also has a Gaming handheld, The Claw:

The MSI Claw has an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor with Intel AI Boost. This processor has 6 P cores, 8 E cores, and 2 low-power cores. It runs on an FHD (1920x1080) IPS-level display measuring in at 7", which also runs at 120hz with 500 nits of brightness. Graphics are handled by an Intel Arc GPU along with LPDDR5-6400 RAM. A 53WHr battery keeps the games flowing for around 50% longer than the competition.

I want this

GPU is not good enough imo.

Msi makes high quality GPU boards for Nvidia graphic chipset with excellent MSI cooling tech and their MSI/Nvidia gpus run cool under load, wonder why they picked the Intel Arc GPU chipset for the claw instead of Nvidia's. Intel Arc has mediocre gaming performance.

Ehh that is actually changing atleast with their newest tech.

The Arc A770 performance is comparable to the Nvidia 3060 UserBenchmark: Intel Arc A770 vs Nvidia RTX 3060

The RTX 4090 has that power cable melting issue because of the power cable port on the card and GPU board cracking issue yes. But The GPU board cracking thing happened with ASUS and Gigabyte GPU boards not MSIs, last time I checked.

and the MSI one still runs great and cool with the RTX 4090 imo :

The arc GPU has issues with games like it will sometimes randomly stop to be detected by games and the chipset runs very hot for its class. causing it to throttle down a lot. And PC Mag said it has inconsistent performance and failed to run games. and driver issues, like what happened with starfield.

and MSI haven't said on what type of the arc GPU exactly they are using for the claw though, if it's going to be the intel arc 750 then it's going to have even lower gaming performance.

MSI new gaming handheld looks nice. I would love to give this gaming handheld a try.

I almost ordered the Steam Deck when it first came out. But I am not a huge handheld gaming guy. I rather be on the desktop. And when I am out, I am doing other stuff and don't have the time for gaming.

If I had my old job position, I would have gotten it for sure.
