Music from "The Legend of Zelda - Link's Awakening"

I've always loved the music from this game, but until I heard these piano arrangements, I didn't realize just how darn good the music actually is. When you listen to it on your GB, the sound range is limited, of course (all you hear is a series of beeps and boops, basically), so you tend to underestimate just how freaking awesome and complex the music is...

Take 20 minutes of your time and just listen to these two videos.

And I swear to God, this music rivals the very best compositions of today, video games music or not. Hell, some of these sound even like Chopin and Beethoven (and no, I am not kidding).

Hats off to Koji Kondo, and anybody else who worked on the music for "The Legend of Zelda - Link's Awakening."

I agree, guys!

Besides the main theme, I am for some reason extremely fond of Mabe's Village theme, the dungeon music (the quite version), and Tal Tal Heights! These are the best.

This might just have one of the best soundtracks, EVER, for a Nintendo video game.
